CyrikCroc "How Core Git Developers Configure Git" by Scott Chacon (archive) A mailing list thread revealed that there are some Git configuration settings that almost the entire core team is using. It starts with that configuration and then walks you through what they all do. For me none of it has been earth-shattering (I already had the big ones) but it's given me some nice small UI improvements throughout.
